Engineering CV writing

Engineering hiring screens on three things a general resume never carries: your chartered or licensure status, the codes and standards you have actually worked to, and the value and scope of the projects you delivered. An engineer who has worked to ASME is not interchangeable with one who has worked to IS or EN, and a hiring engineer reading applications knows precisely what that difference means on site.

What you receive

The handover

Finished files

Production-ready output in the format your printer, platform or workshop actually needs — press PDF, editable source, CAD file, font binary or deck, as the work requires.

Editable sources

The working files, not just the export, so your team can change the work later without coming back to us.

Full rights

Copyright transfers to you on final payment. Nothing we make for you is resold or reused elsewhere.

Two revision rounds

Included in the quoted price. Corrections are logged against the draft rather than argued over on a call.

How it works

Five steps, and you approve the first three

01 · Brief

You tell us what the finished thing has to do, and send whatever material you already have.

02 · Scope & price

A written scope, a fixed figure and a delivery date, usually within one working day.

03 · Structure

You sign off the architecture before production starts, so nothing large is built on a wrong assumption.

04 · Production

Work arrives in stages as it finishes, not all at the end, with two revision rounds included.

05 · Handover

Files, sources and rights in your hands, and the invoice closed.

In detail

Engineering CV writing — how we produce it

We interview for project scope rather than project size. Engineers routinely list a billion-dollar refinery without stating that their scope was a single utility package — which understates nothing but explains nothing either, and invites the wrong questions.

The project sheet is separate because it is the document a technical reviewer actually wants. A CV keeps to two pages; the project sheet carries the detail that gets you through technical screening.

Fixed price agreed in writing, five to seven working days, one revision round. Editable Word and PDF, yours outright on payment.

What an engineering CV must establish

Status, standards and project scope

Chartered status and licensure

CEng, PE, PEng, or the institution and stage reached. Membership grade with dates. This is a screening filter in most engineering recruitment and an omission reads as an absence.

Projects by value and scope

Contract value, your discipline scope, duration, and your role — design, review, site, commissioning. Value alone is meaningless without your scope within it.

Codes and standards named

ASME, API, IS, EN, BS, AWS, IEC, NEC — whichever govern your discipline. These are searched on directly and mismatch is a real disqualifier.

Software and drawing competence

AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, STAAD, ETABS, ANSYS, Aspen — with the level of use. Producing drawings is different from reviewing them and the CV should say which.

Site against design

How much of your record is design office and how much is site or commissioning. Employers hire for one or the other and screen the split immediately.

HSE and quality record

Safety training, permit systems, incident record, quality procedures. EPC contractors and operators weight this heavily and most engineering CVs leave it out entirely.

Engineers applying to the Gulf or to international EPC contractors usually also take the equivalency and attestation checklist, since credential verification precedes most offers.

What you receive

The engineering package

  • Two-page CV with chartered status and licensure stated up front
  • A project sheet listing value, scope, duration and your role
  • Codes, standards and software listed as recruiters search them
  • Site against design-office split made explicit
  • LinkedIn rewritten for engineering recruiter search
  • A cover letter framework for consultancy, EPC and operator applications

Five to seven working days, one revision round, fixed price agreed in writing.

Questions we are asked

Frequently asked

Should I list project values?

Yes, with your discipline scope beside them. A large project value without your scope tells a hiring engineer nothing useful and can read as inflation.

How important are codes and standards?

They are a hard screen. An employer working to ASME shortlists engineers with ASME experience, because retraining across code regimes carries real risk.

Is a separate project sheet worth it?

Yes. It keeps the CV to two pages while giving technical reviewers the depth they need to advance you.

Do you write for Gulf EPC applications?

Yes, including the regional conventions — photograph, nationality, visa status — and the attestation checklist you will need.

How do I present site experience against design experience?

Explicitly, as a proportion. Employers hire for one or the other, and leaving it ambiguous means being screened out of both.

Questions

Before you commission

How much does thesis to book conversion cost?

Prices are fixed in writing before work begins. Scope, language count and turnaround move the figure; volume across a programme brings it down. Send the brief and you have a number within a working day.

How long does it take?

Most single deliverables run three to fourteen weeks depending on length and complexity. Programmes are staged so early parts reach you while later parts are still in production. You get a date with the quote.

Who does the work?

A specialist from our thesis to book team, with an editor and a production person on the same project. Everyone is bound by the same confidentiality terms.

Do I own the result?

Yes. Full copyright transfer, editable sources and production-ready files on final payment. Nothing is resold or reused.

Can it be produced in other languages?

Yes — any of a hundred-plus languages, typeset in the same studio so layout and page numbers match across editions.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. Publishers, institutions and founders in the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia and Japan. Work is delivered by email and shared drive and quoted in US dollars.

What it costs

Published prices, and the LinkedIn profile is free

Most resume services will not quote until you have sent your document and had a conversation. Content Factory publishes the range: ₹2,500 to ₹10,000, decided by your profession and the seniority of the role you are applying for — a graduate resume sits at the bottom of that range and a chief executive package at the top. The figure is fixed in writing before any work starts.

The LinkedIn profile rewrite is included at no charge with every resume. Most services charge separately for it, which makes no sense — a recruiter reads the resume and the profile within minutes of each other, and any disagreement between the two counts against you. Content Factory writes both from one agreed position so they never contradict.

Where exactly you fall in the range depends on your profession and the level you are targeting, not on how long the document is. Send the resume you have now and you will have the figure the same working day — and if it needs nothing, we will tell you that instead.
