Tamil books printed before the 1978 script reform use older forms of letters such as லை, ணை and னா that modern OCR engines were never trained on. Add worn type, bleed-through and yellowed paper, and machine output becomes unusable. Pages are cleaned, deskewed and run through Tamil-trained recognition, with mixed Tamil-English lines and Grantha letters handled.

Native Tamil readers check every page against the image, restoring dropped pulli marks, split vowel signs and misread ligatures.

Can you read pre-1978 Tamil print?

Yes. Our readers are familiar with the older letter forms and convert them to modern Unicode Tamil. If you need the original spellings preserved, tell us in the brief.

Do you need the physical book?

No. Send scans or clear photos. If you only have the physical book, we can advise on scanning.

Can you keep the layout?

Yes. Chapters, headings, footnotes and page breaks are kept. Multi-column newspaper pages are separated into articles.

Can the text be used for a reprint?

Yes. The output is prepared for typesetting, and our studio can also handle layout and printing.
