Delivery within one week

One week from order confirmation and receipt of print-ready files. The clock starts when the files are correct, not when the order is placed — which is why the pre-press check below matters.

75% advance, 25% on delivery

Standard terms. The advance covers paper and plates, which are bought before the press runs. The balance is due when the consignment is delivered.

Pre-press check before the press runs

Bleed, margins, spine width against the page count, image resolution, embedded fonts and colour mode. Every one of these is a reprint if it is wrong, and a reprint is the whole cost again.

Files not ready? We can prepare them

Content Factory typesets and lays out books as well as printing them. If what you have is a manuscript rather than a press-ready PDF, the layout is quoted separately and the two run as one project.

How much does it cost to print a book in Chennai?

For an A5 book of 345 pages on 80 GSM: ₹245 per copy for 500 copies, or ₹210 per copy for 1,000. On 100 GSM the same book is ₹275 and ₹236. Your own figure depends on page count, trim size, paper, binding and cover finish — send those five and the quotation comes the same working day.

What is the minimum print run?

Offset printing becomes economic from around 500 copies, because plates and setup cost the same whether you print 200 or 2,000. Below that, digital printing is the sensible route and we will quote it rather than pushing you into an offset run you do not need.

How long does printing take?

One week from order confirmation and receipt of print-ready files. If the files need correcting, that week starts after the corrections — so the pre-press check is done before anything is scheduled.

What are the payment terms?

75% advance on order confirmation, 25% on delivery. The advance covers paper and plates, which are bought before the press runs.

80 GSM or 100 GSM?

80 GSM is the standard for textbooks, novels and workbooks, and it is what most Indian publishers use. 100 GSM is heavier, whiter and less see-through, which suits coffee-table books, annual reports and anything with photographs. On a 345-page A5 book the difference is about ₹26 per copy at 1,000 copies.

Can you print in Tamil and other Indian languages?

Yes, and this is where in-house typesetting matters. Tamil conjuncts, Telugu and Kannada stacked vowel signs and Arabic right-to-left text all need the right fonts embedded correctly, or the plate renders broken glyphs. Content Factory typesets these in the same building that prints them.

Do you deliver outside Chennai?

Yes, across Tamil Nadu and to any Indian city. Freight is quoted separately against the consignment weight and destination.

How much does textbook writing services cost?

Prices are fixed in writing before work begins. Scope, language count and turnaround move the figure; volume across a programme brings it down. Send the brief and you have a number within a working day.

How long does it take?

Most single deliverables run three to fourteen weeks depending on length and complexity. Programmes are staged so early parts reach you while later parts are still in production. You get a date with the quote.

Who does the work?

A specialist from our school & college course books team, with an editor and a production person on the same project. Everyone is bound by the same confidentiality terms.

Do I own the result?

Yes. Full copyright transfer, editable sources and production-ready files on final payment. Nothing is resold or reused.

Can it be produced in other languages?

Yes — any of a hundred-plus languages, typeset in the same studio so layout and page numbers match across editions.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. Publishers, institutions and founders in the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia and Japan. Work is delivered by email and shared drive and quoted in US dollars.
