Hyderabad is genuinely trilingual in professional life. Corporate hiring runs in English, Telangana state government correspondence runs in Telugu, and the city has one of the largest Urdu-medium educational and media sectors in India.

For most private-sector applications English alone is correct. For a real minority, a second edition is expected — and a machine-translated one is worse than none, in ways the sender cannot detect.

Urdu is written in Nastaliq, a deeply cursive sloping script that most Arabic fonts render incorrectly. It needs a proper Nastaliq font and roughly double the line height of Latin text.

Telugu vowel signs attach above and below the consonant and stack, so tight line height clips them. Conjunct clusters need a shaping engine rather than substituted glyphs, and machine output frequently breaks them visibly.

For Urdu the register problem is worse: formal professional Urdu is specific, and software produces text that reads as either colloquial or archaic to a native reader.

Telugu runs 20 to 30 per cent longer than English. A resume that fits one page in English usually needs a page and a half in Telugu, which is a layout decision rather than a translation one.
