Cloud and security résumés in Hyderabad: certifications, scale and incidents
Hyderabad’s Microsoft, Amazon and global capability centre presence makes it the densest cloud and security market in India after Bengaluru, and hiring here screens on certifications first. Many of these roles carry certification as a contractual requirement rather than a preference, which makes it a hard filter.
After that the market divides sharply. Cloud engineering, cloud security, detection and response, and governance are four distinct professions sharing a job-title family. A résumé that does not declare which one you are gets read by all four hiring managers and wanted by none.
Certifications with status and dates
List them with the awarding body and currency, because several expire:
- Cloud — AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps, Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect, GCP Professional
- Security — CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, CCSP, and the vendor security tracks
- Platform — Kubernetes CKA or CKS, Terraform Associate
- Governance — ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Auditor
An expired certification stated as current is a background-check failure. State the renewal date if it is close.
Declare one discipline
Cloud infrastructure, cloud security, SOC and detection, offensive testing, or governance and risk. Pick the one you are applying as and lead with it.
Claiming all of them equally reads as shallow in each, and Hyderabad hiring managers in this field interview hard on depth.
Environment scale
Accounts or subscriptions, regions, workloads, endpoints, users, log volume per day, monthly cloud spend. A SOC monitoring three hundred endpoints and one monitoring forty thousand are entirely different jobs.
Cloud spend under management is a particularly clear scope statement, and reducing it is an achievement any hiring manager will ask about.
Incidents and frameworks
Incidents by type and severity, your role, time to contain, and what changed afterwards — without naming the employer where that is restricted, which is normal and expected.
Frameworks worked to, with implementation separated from audit: ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2, PCI DSS, and India’s DPDP Act. Having been audited against a framework is a different claim from having implemented it.
