Delhi NCR startup and e-commerce resumes: growth numbers or nothing
Gurugram and Noida hold India’s largest concentration of consumer internet and e-commerce employment. Hiring here is brutally metric-driven, and the metrics are not the ones a traditional resume carries.
A category manager, growth lead or operations manager in Delhi NCR is screened on unit economics and scale. Responsibilities are close to irrelevant.
The numbers that get read
- GMV or revenue owned, monthly or annually
- Users, orders or transactions, and growth rate
- Contribution margin or unit economics, before and after
- CAC and payback period, where you owned acquisition
- Retention or repeat rate, and what moved it
Two or three of these, stated plainly, place a candidate immediately. Most Delhi NCR resumes we receive state none.
Growth rate needs its base
“Grew the category 300%” from what to what. From two lakh to eight lakh is a different achievement from twenty crore to eighty, and an experienced reader assumes the smaller one when the base is omitted.
Giving the base is more credible than withholding it, even when the base is modest.
Say what you owned and what you influenced
Consumer internet teams are cross-functional and ownership blurs. A growth lead who influenced a metric owned by product should say so. Overclaiming is discovered in the first interview, where they ask what you would have done differently.
Experiments, including the failures
A/B tests run, hypotheses disproved, channels tried and abandoned. A candidate who has killed their own initiative on evidence is more credible than one whose every experiment succeeded.
Funded-stage context matters
Seed, Series B and late stage are different jobs. Say which stage, and the headcount, because scope inflates fast at small companies and a reader is trying to calibrate the title.
When the company failed
Common in this ecosystem and not damaging when stated. The stage, the reason, and what you learned. Delhi NCR hiring managers have mostly lived through it themselves.
How Content Factory writes it
Content Factory interviews for the base as well as the growth rate, because a percentage without a base is discounted by every experienced reader in this market.
We separate owned from influenced explicitly, which is what makes a cross-functional record credible rather than inflated.
Startup and e-commerce resumes are priced as a fixed figure in writing, three to five working days, with the LinkedIn rewrite available alongside.
