PSU and government applications in Delhi: the form is the document

Public sector recruitment in Delhi runs on prescribed formats, and that changes the exercise completely. Where a corporate application rewards a well-designed document, a government application rewards exact compliance with the form as issued. A creatively formatted submission can be rejected on procedural grounds before its content is assessed.

This is not an area for style. It is an area for reading the notification carefully, filling every field, attaching every document in the order specified, and keeping the bio-data consistent with what the verification will show.

Use the prescribed format exactly

If the notification includes a bio-data proforma, use it. Do not redesign it, do not reorder the fields, do not omit a field because it seems irrelevant. Write “Not applicable” instead of leaving a blank.

Where no format is prescribed, a plain chronological document with clear headings is correct. Design elements — colour, columns, graphics — work against you in this context.

The fields corporate applications never have

Public sector forms ask for things the private sector does not, and every one must be completed:

  • Category, where applicable, with the certificate reference and date
  • Date of birth as it appears on your matriculation certificate, which is the document that governs
  • Whether you are a government servant already, and through what channel you are applying
  • Domicile, and permanent against present address
  • Details of any departmental proceedings

An incomplete field is a common ground for rejection, and appeals against procedural rejection rarely succeed.

Documents and attestation

Self-attested copies in the order the notification lists, with originals produced at interview. Educational certificates, experience certificates, category certificate, no-objection certificate where you are already in service.

Experience certificates must state the exact period and designation, because the selection committee computes eligibility from them rather than from your résumé.

The interview bio-data

For UPSC and similar processes, the detailed application form becomes the interview’s agenda. Every entry — hobbies, service preferences, the state you are from, your graduation subject — is a potential line of questioning.

Write only what you can discuss for five minutes. An interest listed casually and probed seriously is where prepared candidates come undone.

How Content Factory writes it

Content Factory is a writing studio in Chennai, and résumés are one of the things we produce. Public sector applications are about compliance rather than persuasion, and we treat them that way — the notification is the brief.

Every commission begins with your current document and two or three advertisements you are genuinely targeting. We interview briefly for the numbers behind each claim, because most candidates describe substantial work in language that makes it sound small.

The document is rebuilt single-column with standard headings and month-and-year dates, so applicant tracking systems parse it cleanly, and the wording is aligned to those advertisements without inventing experience you do not have. We will not promise an ATS score — there is no published scoring model and any number quoted to you is invented.

Delhi clients receive editable Word and PDF within three to five working days, with one revision round. The price is fixed in writing before work begins and the work is yours outright.
