Delhi CXO searches: writing for the search partner, not the company
At CXO level the first reader is almost never the company. It is a search partner building a longlist of forty, who will present six. Their professional reputation rests on those six, which makes them conservative — and a résumé that does not establish scale quickly is discarded not because you are unsuitable but because they cannot defend including you.
That is the audience to write for. Not the company, not a recruiter, but a professional intermediary deciding whether you are defensible on a shortlist.
Scale in the first fifteen seconds
Revenue under management, headcount, geographies, P&L ownership and reporting line — in the opening summary, not discovered on page two.
A search partner reading forty documents establishes scale first and reads everything else through it. Fail that and the rest is not read.
Name the pattern in your record
Search firms are briefed on a specific mandate: a turnaround, a scale-up, a carve-out, an IPO preparation, a professionalisation of a family business. They search for people who have done that thing.
So make the pattern explicit rather than leaving it to be inferred from a chronology. “Three turnarounds in fifteen years, two in regulated sectors” matches a brief; a list of employers does not.
Confidential and distressed situations
Describe by sector, revenue scale and your mandate without naming the company. This is entirely standard at CXO level and no search partner reads it as evasion.
Distressed and difficult situations are worth more than clean ones, provided the account is precise. “Restored a loss-making 600 crore division to operating profit in fourteen months” carries the point without identifying anyone.
The board biography goes with it
Nomination committees and investors read a biography before the résumé. It is a different document — third person, one page, governance and committee experience weighted.
Delhi CXO candidates who supply only a résumé are frequently asked for a biography within days, and one written under time pressure is visibly worse than one prepared.
Prices and process
Content Factory prices executive work as a fixed figure agreed in writing, covering the résumé, the board biography, LinkedIn and a cover letter framework. Seven to ten working days with two revision rounds.
The work begins with a recorded conversation of about ninety minutes, because the evidence at this level is not obtainable from a form.
How Content Factory writes it
Content Factory is a writing studio in Chennai, and résumés are one of the things we produce. Executive search work is where the interview matters most — senior candidates underclaim in writing and overclaim in speech, and the conversation is where the real record emerges.
Every commission begins with your current document and two or three advertisements you are genuinely targeting. We interview briefly for the numbers behind each claim, because most candidates describe substantial work in language that makes it sound small.
The document is rebuilt single-column with standard headings and month-and-year dates, so applicant tracking systems parse it cleanly, and the wording is aligned to those advertisements without inventing experience you do not have. We will not promise an ATS score — there is no published scoring model and any number quoted to you is invented.
Delhi clients receive editable Word and PDF within three to five working days, with one revision round. The price is fixed in writing before work begins and the work is yours outright.
