Why Chennai recruiters cannot find you on LinkedIn
Chennai recruiters work by search. They type a stack, a domain and a location into LinkedIn Recruiter and work down the results. Nobody browses profiles hoping to find someone suitable.
This changes what matters. A beautifully written profile that does not contain the terms being searched is invisible, and invisibility is indistinguishable from not existing.
The headline is a search field, not a job title
It carries 220 characters and is weighted heavily in LinkedIn’s own ranking. Most Chennai profiles waste it by repeating the job title, which LinkedIn already indexes separately from the experience section.
Use it to state what you do, for whom, and the terms a recruiter would actually type. “Senior Java Developer” wastes 200 characters. “Senior Java Developer | Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS | Banking domain | Chennai” uses them.
Location set to Chennai, deliberately
Recruiters filter by location constantly, and a profile set to a previous city or left vague is filtered out of local searches. If you are open to relocation, say so in the About section rather than by leaving location blank.
The About section is read to the fold, then abandoned
Two lines show before “see more”. Most profiles spend those two lines on a career chronology that nobody expands to read.
Open with the problem you solve. First person, three or four short paragraphs, written to be read on a phone between meetings — which is where most profiles are actually read.
Skills: the first three carry the weight
They are weighted most in search and displayed most prominently. Most Chennai profiles leave them in whatever order LinkedIn suggested years ago, which is usually wrong.
Consistency with the resume is checked
Recruiters compare the two. Dates, titles and scope that disagree are a standard screening flag, and the discrepancy is noticed far more often than candidates expect. If your resume says Senior Engineer and LinkedIn says Team Lead, expect to be asked.
How Content Factory writes it
Content Factory rewrites the headline around the terms recruiters in your Chennai sector actually search, then writes the About section for the fold and every experience entry as scope and outcome.
We deliver text you paste in yourself. We never ask for your password, and you should refuse anyone who does — an account compromise is a much larger problem than a weak profile.
Most clients take the profile with the resume, since the two are read within minutes of each other. Content Factory writes both from one agreed position so they cannot contradict.
