BPO and shared services résumés in Chennai: metrics are the whole document
Operations hiring is the most numerically screened work in Chennai. A team manager reading BPO applications is looking for a handful of figures — average handling time, quality score, CSAT, SLA adherence, shrinkage — and a résumé that describes the same work in sentences does not enter the comparison at all.
This is unusual and it works in your favour. In most fields you have to argue for your value; in operations you can simply state it, because the metrics are standard across the industry and everyone reading knows what good looks like.
The numbers that matter, by function
Voice and non-voice processes are assessed on different figures. Put the ones relevant to your process, with the target beside the achievement:
- Voice: AHT against target, CSAT, first-call resolution, quality audit score, adherence
- Non-voice and back office: throughput per hour, accuracy percentage, TAT against SLA, rework rate
- Team leadership: team size, attrition, shrinkage, SLA breaches prevented, people promoted from your team
- Process improvement: what you changed, the before figure, the after figure, and whether it held
A target alongside the achievement is stronger than the achievement alone. “AHT 4:10 against a target of 4:30” tells an operations manager you understand how you are measured.
Process migration and transition work
Transition experience is the most valuable line on a Chennai shared services résumé and the most commonly buried. If you have taken a process from an onshore team — documented it, built the knowledge base, trained the team, stabilised it — say so with the timeline and the headcount.
Global capability centres in Chennai hire specifically for this, and there are fewer candidates with genuine transition experience than the job postings suggest.
Shift patterns and geography
State the shifts you have worked and the geographies you have supported. US shift, UK shift, APAC, rotational — this is a scheduling constraint and a screening filter, and candidates who leave it out get asked in the first call anyway.
Language capability belongs here too. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and English in combination is a genuine advantage for processes supporting multiple Indian markets, and it is frequently left off entirely.
Certifications and tools
Six Sigma belts with the project behind them, Lean training, and the platforms you have worked on — Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Genesys, Avaya. Operations recruiters search these directly.
A green belt with no project described reads as a course attended. Name the project, the metric and the saving.
How Content Factory writes it
Content Factory is a writing studio in Chennai, and résumés are one of the things we produce. Operations résumés are among the most straightforward documents to strengthen, because the evidence usually exists and is simply written in the wrong register.
Every commission begins with your current document and two or three advertisements you are genuinely targeting. We interview briefly for the numbers behind each claim, because most candidates describe substantial work in language that makes it sound small.
The document is rebuilt single-column with standard headings and month-and-year dates, so applicant tracking systems parse it cleanly, and the wording is aligned to those advertisements without inventing experience you do not have. We will not promise an ATS score — there is no published scoring model and any number quoted to you is invented.
Chennai clients receive editable Word and PDF within three to five working days, with one revision round. The price is fixed in writing before work begins and the work is yours outright.
