Banking and NBFC résumés in Chennai: book size, collections and compliance

Chennai has a dense concentration of NBFCs, cooperative banks and southern private banks, and hiring in the sector screens on portfolio numbers before anything else. A relationship manager without book size on the document is not a competitive candidate, whatever the years served.

The numbers are standard across the industry, which works in your favour — everyone reading knows what good looks like, so you can simply state it rather than argue for it.

The portfolio figures

By function, with the period and the starting position:

  • Relationship and sales — book size, disbursement volume, customer count, cross-sell ratio
  • Credit — files appraised, ticket size range, approval rate, portfolio quality of what you sanctioned
  • Collections — bucket-wise recovery, roll rates, NPA reduction, legal cases resolved
  • Branch — deposits, advances, CASA ratio, fee income, audit rating

A book grown from 40 crore to 115 crore over three years is a complete argument. “Managed a large portfolio” is discounted.

Product mix and segment

Which products and which customer segment. Gold loan, vehicle finance, LAP, MSME, microfinance, home loan, working capital — these are separate markets with separate skills, and Chennai employers hire for one.

Segment matters equally: retail, SME, mid-corporate, priority sector. A candidate strong in one is not assumed transferable to another.

Asset quality, stated honestly

The portfolio you built and what happened to it. Gross and net NPA on your book, delinquency at 30 and 90 days, and slippage.

This is the number that distinguishes a salesperson from a banker. Anyone can disburse; a candidate whose book performed is worth considerably more, and the figure is checkable in any reference conversation.

Regulatory and audit exposure

RBI inspections faced, audit observations closed, KYC and AML processes run, and any regulatory reporting you owned.

For NBFC candidates, the specific regime matters — which category of NBFC, and what that meant for your compliance obligations.

How Content Factory writes it

Content Factory is a writing studio in Chennai, and résumés are one of the things we produce. Banking documents usually need portfolio quality added — the disbursement figure is stated and what happened to the book is missing.

Every commission begins with your current document and two or three advertisements you are genuinely targeting. We interview briefly for the numbers behind each claim, because most candidates describe substantial work in language that makes it sound small.

The document is rebuilt single-column with standard headings and month-and-year dates, so applicant tracking systems parse it cleanly, and the wording is aligned to those advertisements without inventing experience you do not have. We will not promise an ATS score — there is no published scoring model and any number quoted to you is invented.

Chennai clients receive editable Word and PDF within three to five working days, with one revision round. The price is fixed in writing before work begins and the work is yours outright.
