GCC, product company or services firm: three Bengaluru employers, three résumés
Bengaluru has three distinct employer types and most candidates apply to all of them with one document. That is why strong engineers get no response from two of the three: each reads for something the others do not care about, and a document optimised for none of them satisfies none.
The differences are not cosmetic. A services firm screens for billability and breadth. A product company screens for depth and ownership. A global capability centre screens for whether you can operate with a parent organisation in another time zone.
IT services
Breadth is the asset. Multiple clients, multiple technologies, evidence you can be staffed on whatever comes in next. Designation mapped to a band, notice period stated, and project descriptions a technical panel can interview from.
What to include that the others do not want: the technology matrix, client names, certifications, the number of projects delivered.
Product companies
Depth and ownership. Two or three systems described properly, with scale carried and the decisions you made. Breadth reads as shallowness here, and a nine-line technology list is an active liability.
Cut everything that is standard on an Indian services template — declaration, photograph, date of birth, the matrix — and lead with impact.
Global capability centres
A hybrid, and specific about working across geographies:
- Which parent geography you supported, and the overlap hours you worked
- Whether you owned a function locally or executed instructions from onshore
- Transition experience — taking a process or product responsibility from the parent
- Stakeholder management across time zones, named and described
GCC hiring in Bengaluru is increasingly for ownership rather than execution, and evidence of having taken responsibility from the parent is the most valuable thing on the document.
Three documents from one interview
The underlying material is the same. What changes is the order, the emphasis, what is cut, and the vocabulary.
Maintaining three versions sounds like work but takes one hour once the base document is right — and the alternative is applying to three markets with a document tuned for none.
How Content Factory writes it
Content Factory is a writing studio in Chennai, and résumés are one of the things we produce. We produce all three versions from one commission when a client is applying across employer types, because the material is shared and only the framing changes.
Every commission begins with your current document and two or three advertisements you are genuinely targeting. We interview briefly for the numbers behind each claim, because most candidates describe substantial work in language that makes it sound small.
The document is rebuilt single-column with standard headings and month-and-year dates, so applicant tracking systems parse it cleanly, and the wording is aligned to those advertisements without inventing experience you do not have. We will not promise an ATS score — there is no published scoring model and any number quoted to you is invented.
Bengaluru clients receive editable Word and PDF within three to five working days, with one revision round. The price is fixed in writing before work begins and the work is yours outright.
